Sergeant Cyril Frederick "Corney" Wheatstone
(1335605)
Wireless Operator
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve
Son of Frederick Charles and Violet Emily Wheatstone, of Romford, Essex. Husband of Marjorie Wheatstone.

Cyril is referred to as 'Corney' in the poem, a reference to 'Wheat' in his surname.
Cyril is unfortunately the only crew member not found and his name appears at the Runnymede Memorial alongside commemorations to over 20,000 other airmen lost.

Cyril's family have kindly supplied the photographs below and the one showing the lads celebrating there 'graduation' from 18 OTU (Operation Training Unit) is another Facebook find!
It ties in with Cyril's service record
